This trip is so complete and so well organised. Everything is organised down to the last detail: breakfast, lunch, dinner, horse riding and all the activities around it. Because you are not only going to ride. You will also visit museums, the pyramids and other historical sites, go swimming with the horses and even take a boat on the Nile. Really, you won't be bored for a moment. Everything is arranged for you from start to finish, so all you have to do is enjoy yourself.
On the first day you arrive at your airport in Cairo. Someone will be waiting at the airport to pick you up and take you to your hotel. At 8 o'clock in the evening you will start with a dinner. Here you can meet the rest of the group. Here you will already have a view of the pyramids!
You start this adventure right away with a visit to the Valley of the Kings, where you discover the impressive tombs and hieroglyphics of the Pharaohs together with an Egyptologist. Then you'll head to the magnificent Temple of Hatshepsut, built against the rocks - truly one of the most beautiful sites in Egypt. After lunch, your first horse adventure begins! The tuk-tuk will take you to the stables, where you will meet the horses, camels and donkeys. Then you'll take a relaxing ride through villages, farmland and along the Nile.
A day full of riding: from 08:00 to 14:00 you will be in the saddle. In the morning you will ride through green fields where farmers still work as their ancestors did. At lunch you eat at a local restaurant while the horses rest in the shade. On the way back, you ride past the Colossi of Memnon, two huge statues of pharaoh Amenhotep III - perfect for photos. For early birds, there is an optional hot-air balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings (at extra cost). In the evening, take to the water for a sunset cruise on the Nile. As the sun sets, you cruise along the river, enjoy a delicious dinner on board and sail towards the Karnak Temple for a spectacular light and sound show.
You start the day with a ride up to Mount Thebes, where you enjoy a magical sunrise that lights up the desert in beautiful colours. The afternoon is all yours: time to relax or do an optional activity, such as a photo shoot in the Sunset Mountains or in the Valley of the Kings. For culture lovers, there is also the opportunity to visit the Luxor Temple and the Luxor Museum.
A very special morning. You get up early and go to the stables in the dark. From there, you ride on horseback through quiet streets as the sun slowly rises. You head into the fields and ride towards the Valley of the Kings, where dozens of hot air balloons fill the sky like floating lanterns - a magical view, especially from your horse. You'll stop for breakfast overlooking the Habu Temple and then have time to explore this special place. After lunch and a refreshing shower, you'll travel on to Hurghada on the Red Sea, arriving around sunset. Dinner and accommodation at hotel in Hurghada.
Today an exciting 3-hour ride through the desert awaits. This area, known as "yalla country," with vast plains, is perfect for galloping your horse full throttle. There is nothing like galloping through this breathtaking landscape on an Arabian, known for its energy and endless stamina! In the afternoon, relax by the pool or opt for an optional photo shoot to capture your adventure.
A highlight of your equestrian holiday is swimming with the horses in the crystal-clear Red Sea. The horses enjoy the cool water! Perfect for unforgettable photos! After the last hugs and goodbye to the horses, you will be taken to the airport for your departure.
You stay in nice hotels with good facilities, often even with swimming pool. Normally you stay at The Neom Pyramid Valley in Cairo, Gezira Gardens in Luxor and Sweet Home in Hurghada. For full bookings, the hotel may differ, but you always get similar accommodation.
The price is based on sharing a double room with someone else, each in a separate bed. Would you prefer a single room? That is possible at an additional cost. I myself shared a room during the trip (as an introvert!), and it turned out to be a great experience: it enriched my trip immensely and brought us very close together.
